All these naysayers are following the same typical corporate mentalities. You have a tv show that shows practical working training methods that do not require you to go spending hundreds of dollars on vets, trainers, etc. The pet business community cannot make money if people use these techniques, therefore his methods are shunned. And yes a realize Mr. Millan is making a lot of money on these tv shows, books, and seminars but the corporate machine isn't. As for the warnings on the show... Humans are humans, they can make mistakes. These warnings are for protection against someone going to far and blaming the show for there own mistakes.

People should accept the show for what it really is, a man trying to help animals and there owners have a happy relationship. Not everyone on the planet is a piece of crap, most are, but Mr. Millan is not. So put your jealousy aside and support decent people, instead focus your negative attention on people who deserve it.

You are pathetic, insecure and ignorant, LEAVE DECENT PEOPLE ALONE!

After reading all of these comments I am very disturbed by the number of people of aggree with Cesar's methods. I am a veterinary student and I have learned a great deal about actual animal behavior, not the unsubstantiated 'facts' that Mr. Millan makes up. I don't want to get into a big rant but I would like to just put points out there for readers to ponder.

1. Why does The Dog Whisper show feel they need to put warnings on their shows. Isn't the point of the show to help owners with similar training problems? On It's Me or The Dog there is no disclaimer included, and all of the methods used on the show are safe for owners to use at home.

2. When watching The Dog Whisper on mute what behavior are you seeing from the dogs? Without Mr. Millan's charm, the dramatic music, and narraters explaination can you tell if the dog is fearful, apprehensive, etc. Without all the drama and the sound is the show still the same?

3. Why are the dogs not excited to see Mr. Millan when he returns for a follow up or re-enters the room. On It's Me or the Dog the pet is usually overjoyed when Mrs. Stilwell returns because she does not inspire fear in them, but rather inspires leadership and affection through positive training methods.

For those of you who are strong proponent of Mr. Millan I encourage you to do some third party research, take a course in animal behavior from your local community college, watch It's Me or the Dog without the sound on, talk to your veterinarian, try to gain a little knowledge of dog behavior that is not coming from Mr. Millan. After doing so I am confident you will find that he is wrong in his dominance training methods. Isn't the purpose of owning a dog to enjoy their companionship and love? This is not accomplished when using the dominance method; instead it creates a level of fear and anxiety in your pets. I encourage all to explore positive training methods because while the methods require a lifetime of consistency, the benefits are long-term, the methods are safe, and you and your dog can enjoy the training time.

Take a look at these two links if you can open your mind to methods other than Mr. Millan.

Two beautiful people who shared one beautiful life and two beautiful boys, nothing and no one can ever change that, sad to see you go your separate ways but sometimes the souls journey takes a different turn to face new challenges and new opportunities, it's just the way. Bless you both in everything you do and for all you stand for. xxx

Thanks to watching Cesar I can now walk my Vizsla with my arm still attached and I never had to be mean, only firm. That same firmness translated into him listening off leash. I discipline with a sound and now his name and it works perfectly with no shouting. I finally have a dog that listens to me as well as loves me.

I watch Cesar religiously and only hope that I interact with my dogs a percentage of what he can achieve. I have read numerous dog training books and have worked with dogs myself and I find his methods work and make sense. Dogs are about the pack mentality and unfortunately too often I am not the pack leader. Magic things happen when I assert myself and regain the dogs repsect. His methods are not about fear, but about how dogs react and interact with eachother. I have seen cruel training methods, spiked collars sharpened to really get the dogs attention or the classic electric shock treatment, that is training by pain. Look at the faces of the dogs on the show, they do not display fear, but many times relief at finally being comfortable with themselves and their surroundings. For sure the owners are happier!

Dear Cesar, I am usually very good at reading body languagel like you, but I read people as well as dogs.
One thing I notice at difference events that you were having a blast and you wife was just there not really enjoying the event as well as you.

I don't know if it was becasue she couldn't handle your success well or she didn't like play second fiddle. But I found it very obvious that she was not really participling in the event with you she was just there becasue I guess she should be.

I have no idea if it was always this way between you two only you know that one. I do wish you both the best and in moving forward find true happiness!!

These arrogant and ignorant intellectuals will always attack the simple genius who exposes their shallow, assumed knowledge. Cesar's methods work. I trained three wonderful and "Daddy" like labradors without any knowledge of Cesar's existence because I followed my instincts. When I first saw him on screen I realised why I had such outstandingly balanced dogs. I hope Cesar will ignore this pathetic, childish and jealous whining of small minds. As for the "cruelty" he is supposed to have inflicted - only in America could someone be permitted to sue another with no basis or reason except that he was trying to help and when he was in no way responsible for or present at the alleged incident. (I am English.) Polls show an overwhelming support for Cesar. Long may he continue his brilliant and inspired work and to hell with his detractors.

Keep up the great work Cesar! Your methods are effective and proven. I have used them on my own dogs and they work. I agree with previous posters -- your criticizers are jealous and got their heads screwed on wrong.

Wow! This is the WORST reporting and commentary I have EVER seen. Let me tell you why: First, the carpenter DID go to emergency care because he fractured bones in his pelvis and legs. He was literally known as one of the best carpenters in the world, and for a time couldn't perform the work he could before, and lost out on some very high-paying jobs. His medical bills exceed 100,000 dollars. Second, there is horrible tilt in this article and it comes to a conclusion simply based on the fact a lawsuit was filed. If that is true, then every plaintiff would simply be out for money.

Since you also failed to take ANY steps to investigate ANYTHING before writing this, I'll let you know what I figured out after one phone call. The carpenter is suing the construction company as well (who is owned by Barbra's brother-in-law). The carpenter fell from a trailer into a ditch after someone on the construction site moved the stairs that led up to the trailer. Meanwhile, the construction company and Barbra misrepresented to the carpenter, a subcontractor, that they had insurance for their workers (they didn't; they lied).

And lastly, the carpenter isn't trying to extort money from anyone. His medical bills have been 6 figures. He has lost out on 6 figure jobs as a result of the injury. And Barbra and her brother-in-law's construction company fail to take responsibility for FAILING to provide their "employees" with insurance and maintain a safe environment (we aren't talking about a hole in the ground here... we are talking about falling 15-20 feet into a ditch because someone moved the stairs!)

I'm sorry you automatically assume every plaintiff is trying to extort money. But I'm even more sorry you falsely report information!
