Alexandra Kerry DUI

Daughter to Senator John Kerry, Alexandra Kerry, is arrested in Hollywood on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). On Thursday, November 19, Alexandra, age 36, was allegedly driving drunk at around 12:30 a.m. and arrested. She was released several hours later after posting $5,000 bail.

Spokeswoman for Senator Kerry of Massachusetts, Jodi Seth, stated that Alexandra was pulled over for expired registration and then released after a breathalyzer test showed that her blood-alcohol level was below the California legal limit of 0.08. According to Officer April Harding, of the LAPD’s Media Relations office, she did not know if Alexandra Kerry had tested above the allowed limit; however, Harding did note that drivers can still be arrested for suspicion of DUI if they appear to be driving recklessly or appear to be a danger to others.

“Senator Kerry supports his daughter and will have no further comment on a private matter,” Seth stated.

Be Like Others is a documentary produced by Alexandra, an accomplished writer, actress, director, and producer, that is based on young Iranian men who decide to undergo sex change operations. The film was finished in 2008 and debuted on HBO during June of this year. Alexandra wrote the book Notes from the Trail which discusses politics, the media, and the presidential campaign trail.

It’s fairly safe to assume that if Alexandra Kerry did in fact test below the legal blood-alcohol limit, she won’t be facing DUI charges, especially when considering her father is one of the nation’s most recognizable politicians. Nonetheless, we’ll post updates as the case progresses.
